Christmas Fayre and Social Night 1st Dec 2011
Lower Shaw Farm
The Swindon Support Group held their first Xmas Fayre and Social at Lower Shaw Farm where various stalls were selling everything from cosmetics, jewellery, knitting, AAF merchandise and cakes.
Thank you all for coming along and especially to those who made and donated delicious mince pies and various cakes and biscuits. The evening was a great success and raised over £400 for the bears.
Many thanks to Andrea and Matt for giving us their lovely room at the farm and making us so welcome.

Bristol Dragon Boat Race 25th Sept 2011
Moon Bear Paddlers

A team of 19 crazy Animals Asia supporters dressed up in moon bear t-shirts and furry moon bear ears to paddle for the bears at Baltic Wharf, Bristol Docks. 19 charities took part in the race hoping to win a medal whilst raising funds and awareness for their chosen charity. A wet and murky start to the day finished with the sun coming out for our last race. This was the Moon Bear Paddlers first attempt at this event and coming 2nd from bottom has not deterred us. We will be back for more next year! We are all delighted to have raised £2664 for the Honey Money Days which will help pay for enrichment items like swings and hammocks for the bear enclosures in China and Vietnam, also toys and food to help stimulate the bears and keep them occupied which helps with their recovery.
Many thanks to Jacky and Mandy for running the AAF Stall on the day and raising £110 to add to our total.
This was a very special day too as we were presented with our Support Group of the Year award by Gill Maltby AAF UK Director together with Leigh Fisher and Maren Dallman who also won awards.
