area of Cannons Gym in Greenbridge he ran half a marathon, cycled 50 miles, swam
for 2 and a half miles and finished with 300 situps. He started this amazing feat at
8am and finally finished at 4pm.
Jill Robinson and the mayor turned up to support him together with Moonie. In total
Leon raised an incredible £1400. This is Leon,s 3rd challenge to raise money for the
bears. Many thanks to his dedication.
Swindon launched the 10th Anniversary Roadshow with Animals Asia founder Jill Robinson and Christie Lang, the China Relations Director. Among the guests were Swindon,s Mayor Steve Wakefield as guest of honour and AAF UK Patron Paul Martin from TV,s "Flog It" as Celebrity Auctioneer, together with Sarah Fisher the highly regarded dog trainer, specialising in the TTouch approach. From the Swindon Link Magazine was Roger Ogle, the editor, who has raised the profile of AAF,s campaign in Swindon over the last 6 months.
The evening started with a sensational vegetarian banquet for 190 people followed by an emotional presentation by Jill herself relaying all the latest news from the sanctuary. She also talked of the uplifting progress towards ending dog and cat eating by changing the hearts and minds of people towards companion animals in China and the part AAF played in the assistance to people and animals alike in the aftermath of the devastating China earthquake a couple of months before.
Paul Martin hosted an energetic and exciting auction with items donated by local people and companies and these raised huge amounts of moneyfor the moon bears. The evening was rounded off with a Tina Turner tribute act where guests danced away for the rest of the evening.
This amazing event raised £11,275 where 100% all goes to the rescue of the bears from these vile bear farms. Thank you so much to everyone who came along and donated such wonderful items for the auction.
